Move over movie stars, Modi's ministers rule the gym
Watching film stars and sportsmen working out in the gym is just passe. Union minister Kiren Rijiju and Rajyavardhan Rathore just gave the nation some fitness goals. The ministers in Narendra Modi cabinet shared videos of their workouts in the gym and this is definitely not the first time that the duo has pushed the cause of fitness. From the tweets, we understand that they are in a race to be the fittest.
Modi's ministers in the gym
On Wednesday, Minister of State for Home affairs Kiren Rijiju shared videos of his cabinet colleague Rajyavardhan Rathore sweating it out at the gym. The minister said that his olympian colleague gave him some tough challenge.
The race to be the fittest
Kiren Rijiju while sharing the video said that despite work keeping them busy, they find time to workout. "While doing duty we've no time for physical fitness. But my Olympian colleague @Ra_THORe manages some time & gives me a tough challenge."(SIC), Rijiju tweeted.
The fitness guru netas
For his part, Rajyavardhan Rathore chose to counter-compliment Rijiju. "Ha ha ha...despite your hectic schedule, YOU are beyond competition AND are an inspiration" (SIC), he tweeted. What followed was a barrage of praises being heaped on the duo for leading by example on the fitness front. Cabinet colleagues like Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu too complimented his colleagues.
Buddies in cabinet and gym
This is certainly not the first time that the minister duo has shared pictures of them gyming together. Way back in 2016, Rijiju had taken to twitter to post pictures of their routine in the gym. He had also spoken about how stealing time away from busy schedules was important.
Minister's appeal to the youth
Kiren Rijiju has pushed for a healthy living each time he has posted his workout regime. This was his message in 2016, "Message to the youths; Manage some time to work out, keep fit for a sound mind, stay away from drugs, live a healthy life. Health is wealth(SIC).
Lawmakers can stretch too
Yes, they are busy. Yes, they rush in and out of Parliament but they still manage to find the time to keep themselves fit. These lawmakers find time to hit the gym in the oddest of situations. Don't believe us? Read for yourself what Kiren Rijiju said when posting gym pictures in 2016. "Besides intensive deliberations on security in DGs Conference at National Police Academy, we had Yoga session too. Also few minutes in gym.(SIC)
