Prime Minister Narendra Modi's jam packed rally was loaded with talk about heroes, Dalits and nationalism. The PM who is on a whirlwind tour of Karnataka took at a dig at the Congress while calling it a dealwala and not a dilwala party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Modi who shared the stage with Sriramulu who is contesting from Molakmuru in Chitradurga said that there are so many people who have done so much for the country. He cited the example of Onake Obavva and Madakari Nayaka. He asked why is a Jayanti of Tipu and not these people which is being celebrated.

He said that the Congress for the sake of votes would celebrate the Jayanti of Sultans but not of those who celebrate have sacrificed their lives for the country. He was making a clear reference to the controversy that erupted post the Tipu Jayanti celebrations.

Congress is into the habit of twisting facts of history to bag a few votes. Whose Jayanti are they celebrating. They do not want to celebrate the Jayanti of the brave says Modi while taking a dig at Tipu Jayanti. Why not Jayantis of Onake Obavva or Madakari Nayaka, Modi also said during his rally at Chitradurga.

The people should be aware of the injustice meted out by the Congress to Nijalingappa. He questioned Nehru and in the bargain he was sidelined. Nijalingappa stood for the poor and Dalits, Modi also said.

Dr. B R Amedkar too was sidelined by the Congress. He stood for the people, but was never accepted by the Congress. The Congress had reserved the Bharat Ratna for its family. It was under Atal Vajpayee that the Bharat Ratna was conferred to Dr. Ambedkar, Modi also said.

It was the BJP which gave recognition to B R Ambedkar. His 125th birth anniversary was celebrated by us not only in India, but across the world. We never played any caste politics. It was under the A B Vajpayee that Dr. Abdul Kalam was made the President of India. When I became the the PM, we decided to make Ram Nath Kovind the President Narendra Modi also said.

The Congress is worried. The PM is from the backward community and the President is from the Dalit community. This has worried them and they have started spreading rumours to instigate the Dalit community, Modi also said. I will do everything for the Dalits, backward classes and oppressed. I am one among you and I will ensure your well-being, Modi further added.

Modi had the crowd in splits when he asked why the Congress is so fond of beds. He said they love beds because they hide their ill-gotten wealth under it.
