Modi never mentioned Article 370, Ayodhya yet people defame PM: Paswan
Ram Vilas Paswan said that law and order is state subject. "If state governments are unable to take care of it, should the Centre send armed forces to states," Paswan said.
New Delhi, July 31: Defending NDA government on the issue of cow slaughter and mob lynching incidents, LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday said, Centre can't send forces to states where cow vigilantism incidents take place.
Supporting PM Modi's tough talk over cow vigilantes, Union Minister of Food & Public Distribution, Paswan said, "The Prime Minister has condemned these incidents twice. Do you want him to send in the army when such incidents happen?". Paswan was speaking in Lok Sabha during the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament. He further said, "In last three years, Modi has never mentioned Babri Masjid, Ayodhya or Article 370. He only speaks of development."
Invoking the anti-sikh riots post Indiara Gandhi's assasination, Paswan said that the incidents have been happening since decades and selective targetting of the current government on that basis is wrong. Paswan also targeted CPI and asked why the killing of 6 people during its rule was not called mob lynching.
Suggesting that the House needs to pass a resolution to condemn incidents of lynchings, he urged the states to begin investigation within 24 hours, when such incidents come to light.
