Modi Cabinet reshuffle: Will Supriya Sule make the cut, Fadnavis move to centre?
As the d-day for the Modi Cabinet reshuffle gets nearer, there is more talk and some more speculation. The talk of the town now is that the Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule may join the central ministry. There is however no formal announcement as yet on whether the NCP would join the NDA, although the signs have been clear.
An elevation for Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan is on the cards. Since the past couple of weeks, gossip mills have been stating that Goyal may get Finance while Arun Jaitley would take full charge of Defence.
The other news floating around is the possibility of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis being shifted to Delhi. Several calls to sources indicated that this was a possibility, but there is no confirmation about the same.
Nitin Gadkari is likely to get more on his plate. All transport related ministries are likely to be handled by him. Modi and Amit Shah are also looking for people from the states. A review with the chief ministers of BJP led states is already on and some talent from there are likely to be brought to New Delhi. There is also a strong possibility of him being made the Railway Minister owing to his track record.
The Narendra Modi led cabinet is also expected to induct two members of the JD(U) and AIADMK, sources say. The source said that two JD(U) leaders will join the cabinet. One AIADMK leader will also join the cabinet while two others will be accommodated as ministers of state.
