New India 2022: Modi, Amit Shah chair meeting of CMs of BJP ruled states

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP chief Amit Shah on Monday held meeting of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of BJP-ruled states and took stock of development and social welfare work being done.

The meeting was attended by all the 13 chief ministers and six deputy chief ministers of the party.

Senior Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj were also present in the meeting.

All CMs and Dy CMs received PM's guidance as to how states will work on mission mode to attain PM's goal of a New India by 2022, said UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after the meeting.

Ways to achieve the aim of doubling farmers' income by 2022 also discussed, he added.

This is Modi's third meeting with the chief ministers after the BJP swept to power in 2014, but the first such exercise since it formed a government in Bihar by joining hands with the JD(U).

Ahead of the meeting, the respective states had been asked to send in details to the central office on the progress made in various developmental works, both under central and state-sponsored schemes.

Some chief ministers have also been asked to make brief presentations on their flagship schemes which can be tweaked and implemented in other states as well.
