MNS workers attack non-Maharashtrians in Sangli
MNS-led by Raj Thackeray has been vocal against outsiders migrating to Maharashtra in search of employment.
In a video that surfaced on Wednesday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) members were seen attacking non-Maharashtrians on the pretext of demanding preference to local youth for jobs in the MIDC Kupwad industries area.
Kupwad, formerly a small town, now houses the MIDC industrial area harbouring many foundries, spinning mills, chocolate factories, oil manufacturing, cold storage etc. Notable foundries are Tulsi foundry, J sons foundry. Lotte is a chocolate manufacturing industry is housed here. Notable spinning mills like Toto Toya spin ltd. Oil manufacturing factory ( Chakan oil mills) are also housed here.
MNS-led by Raj Thackeray has been vocal against outsiders migrating to Maharashtra in search of employment. The MNS raised the issue of unemployment among Maharashtrian youths and blamed the 'outsiders'-mostly migrant north Indians-for the same. Following Raj's tirade, MNS workers beat up north Indian hawkers and cab drivers.
