Miracle child survives after his heart stopped beating for 45 minutes

Baby who was born with a hole in his heart and survived even after his heart stopped beating for 45 minutes.

A three-month-old baby from Dhule district in Maharashtra was born with a hole in his heart. He even survived even after his heart stopped beating for 45 minutes.

According to a leading daily, the baby lost his heartbeat a day after a surgery was performed on him. However the baby's heart stablised after it was connected to a mechanical circulatory support system.

The doctors took around 26 hours to complete the procedure for the heart to start beating normally. With the help of the various modern equipment and a well-qualified team the child was finally fit and could lead a normal life.

The baby hails from an underprivileged family whose skin turned blue soon after his birth. However, the doctors said that such babies are born with limited capacity of the heart to pump fresh blood in the body. They are called as blue babies due to low levels of oxygen in the blood.
