Minor earthquake hits Assam
No damage has been reported in a minor earthquake that hit Assam on Monday.
Guwahati, Dec 12: An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale struck Karbi Anglong area in Assam on Monday morning, said reports.
The epicentre of the earthquake is yet to announced.
No loss of lives or damage to property has been reported so far.
In April this year, an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale rocked parts of Meghalaya, Assam and other North Eastern states. The epicentre of that quake was located in the East Garo Hills in Meghalaya.
At least six people were killed and more than 50 injured when an earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale rocked Manipur and other north-eastern states in January this year. The epicentre of the quake was Manipur's Tamenglong district.
