Mann ki Baat: 'Fit India is a great initiative', says Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through his 'Mann ki Baat' with appreciation for the all-women crew of INSV Tarini for circumventing the globe. While addressing the nation, Modi lauded the people who scaled Mount Everent in the recent weeks. Referring to the 'fitness challenge' by Team India skipper Virat Kohli, the PM said he didn't expect such overwhelming response to his 'Fit India' call.

This is the 44th edition of the programme, was broadcast on All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan and also on the NaMo App. The programme was also streamed on the You Tube channels of the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and DD News.
Modi had earlier said in a tweet that he would like people to share their ideas and suggestions on the Narendra Modi App and the My Gov Open Forum, and can also dial the toll free number 1800-11-7800 to record their message for the Prime Minister in Hindi or English. People can also give a missed call on the number 1922 and follow the link received in SMS to directly give the suggestions to the Prime Minister.
Akashwani also broadcasted the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. Regional language versions of the programme will also be repeated at 8 p.m.
In his last Mann ki Baat programme, on April 29, Modi had 'Swachh Bharat Summer Internship' for Youngsters and also had lauded the achievements of Indian athletes at recently concluded Commonwealth Games 2018.
"Our athletes lived up to the expectations of the country and won medal after medal. It was a fantastic performance in 2018 Commonwealth Games," the Prime Minister had said in the 43rd edition of his radio programme. He had also appreciated Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for his contribution towards the Fit India Movement.
