Manipur: Two jawans injured as terrorists ambush 4 Assam Regiment in Chandel
Terrorists ambushed 4 Assam Regiment in Chandel's Sajik Tampak in Manipur on Wednesday.
While the encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway, a terrorist has been killed in the exchange of fire. Two jawans were also injured in the firing.
The terrorist is believed to be affiliated to the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF). An AK series assault rifle and two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were also recovered by the secutiy forces.
No outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack comes a day after two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and six others injured when a powerful bomb exploded early Monday morning in Chandel district.
The banned insurgent outfit Revolutionary Peoples Front (RPF) had claimed responsibility for the attack.
