Mamata Banerjee wishes Kerala CM on his birthday
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on his birthday a day after she greeted Left party leaders D Raja and Sitaram Yechury during the swearing-in ceremony of HD Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru.
The swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday saw the assortment of political leaders from Mamata Banerjee to Pinarayi Vijayan may have made the possibility of a united front to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP in 2019 general election.
The show of camaraderie comes a week after Mamata Banerjee celebrated dethroning the CPI(M) rule in West Bengal.
Mamata Banerjee on May 13 tweeted, "On this day in 2011, the people of #Bengal reposed their faith on @AITCofficial and put an end to 34 years of CPI(M) rule. I bow to Maa, Mati, Manush on this occasion. #SevenYearsOfPoriborton."

CPM General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury also endorsed for unity among regional parties ahead of Lok Sabha elections in 2019. According to reports, Yechury asserted that only a post-poll alliance would help in the formation of the new government in New Delhi.
It may be recalled that Mamata Banerjee had said that she would not "tolerate" attacks on "supporters" of the Communist Party of India-Marxist [CPI(M)] and the pulling down of a statue of Russian leader Vladimir Lenin in Tripura after the BJP won the assembly elections.
She condemned the BJP's action saying the party has no right to erase the statues of Lenin and Karl Marx.
"Karl Marx or Mohamati [The Great] Lenin are not my leaders. But they do matter in Russia. Different people are leaders in different countries and different places formed this [the world]...but you [BJP]do not have the right to raze the statues of Marx or Lenin, just because you came to power, " she was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
