Malleshwaram blasts- Bengaluru police arrest prime suspect
Bengaluru, June 13: The Bengaluru police made a major breakthrough following the arrest of prime accused in connection with the Malleshwaram or BJP office blast. A team of the CCB a specialised unit of the Bengaluru police arrested Daniel Prakash from Tiruvenalli in Tamil Nadu.
The police say that he is a prime accused and his role in the blast is clear. The police are currently questioning him for more leads in the case. This is the 15th arrest in the case.
On April 17 2013, an explosion took place outside the BJP's office in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru. 16 persons were injured in the blast. Investigations had shown that ammonium nitrate had been used in the explosives. It was also discovered a motor cycle stolen from Hyderabad had been used in the blast.

In October 2013, a chargesheet had been filed against several persons in connection with this case. The police had named Basheer, Kichan Buhari, Sait Azgar Ali, Rehamathulla, Valayil Hakeem, Syed Suleman, Suleman, Zulfikar Ali, Mohammed Salim, Panna Ismail, Bilal Malik, Fakruddin, Pravai Basha and Ali Khan Kutti. The police had suspected that the attack could have been the handiwork of the Al-Ummah which is based in Tamil Nadu.
