Makhanlal University to set up ‘gau shala' to give students ‘fresh milk’
The Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Mass Communications will run a 'gau shala' at their new 50-acre campus in Bhopal.
Speaking to ANI Deepak Sharma, Registrar of the university, termed it a "new experiment". "The 'gau shala' will be constructed on around two acre land. However, the number of cows and the breed that would be bred inside the university 'gau shala' is not yet decided.
The new upcoming campus we have around 50 acres of land. Of this around two acres of land is such that it could not be put to any use. So we decided to act upon was of starting a 'gau shala'."
The University hopes that the Gau shaala will provide unadulterated milk and its products like ghee and butter which will be given to students staying in hostels on the campus.
