Police deployed in violence-affected area of Maharashtra's Aurangabad on Sunday. Clash had erupted between groups of two communities on Friday night. Section 144 (prohibits assembly of more than 4 people in an area) imposed in the city.

Three FIRs have been registered and a few people have been detained. "There have two deaths, one due to a plastic bullet and another death because of falling off a slab. Few police officers and constables got injured during the clashes," Acting Commissioner and Special IG of Aurangabad Milind Bharambe said.

A clash broke out between two groups in Maharashtra's Aurangabad on Friday night, following which more than hundred shops and several vehicles were burnt. Police used teargas shells to control violent mob in Aurangabad. The incident has also claimed 2 lives.

The clashes ensued between 2 groups after illegal water connection to a 'religious place' was reportedly disconnected.

The security has been beefed up in the area to avoid any further violence. Also, section 144 has been imposed so that people do not assemble at a place.

Speaking on the issue, state Home Minister appealed to "maintain peace and urged to not believe in rumours". He also asserted that two people have lost their lives and several have been injured. He also said that many police officials have been injured during the clashes.

The violence has left at least 10 policemen injured.
