Maha: Former Union Min RR Patil critical, battling for life
Mumbai, Jan 19: Former Union Minister RR Patil, of the controversial 'rape after vote' fame, is battling for life at the intensive care unit of the Lilavati hospital. The senior NCP leader, who has been fighting bad health for quite some time now had been hospitalized for over a fortnight at the Bandra hospital. He is on ventilator support now.
He has been undergoing treatment for malignancy since the past two weeks. Inside sources reveal that his condition is deteriorating over the last four days when the doctors decided to move him to the ICU. The hospital, however, has refused to divulge any details about his medical conditions.
The leader had been a regular at the hospital for quite some time now, but was rushed to the Breach Candy Hospital very recently as he showed symptoms of cardiac arrest. The doctors, however, are said to have found nothing. Patil had undergone a surgery earlier at the very same hospital.
He is being regularly visited by politicians.
