Madhya Pradesh to get ministry of happiness, announces CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Bhopal, Apr 1: Madhya Pradesh is set to become first state in India to have a ministry of happiness to track the growth of the state.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced to create ministry of happiness while addressing a state BJP convention.
"We will make a 'happiness ministry' to track our growth," said Shivraj Singh, reported the Times of India.
"The state will be made responsible for happiness and tolerance of its citizens and will rope in psychologists to counsel people how to be always happy," said the chief minister.
UAE gets ministers for tolerance, happiness
India's neighbouring nation Bhutan measures prosperity by gauging citizens' happiness quotient and not GDP while UAE in a major reshuffle in the cabinet in February announced to create new posts of minister of state for tolerance and minister of state for happiness.
