Bizarre! Lions taken into custody for murder of three persons in Gujarat
Ahmedabad, June 15: At least 18 Asiatic male lions have been taken into custody in connection with murder of three persons in Gujarat.
Paw prints of these lions will be taken by police to found the guilty one. Life sentence will be given if one is found guilty, reported the Washington Post.
The guilty lion may be sent to a zoo for his entire life. These lions have been detained over the past two months and are being kept in separate cages.
"We think we have pinpointed the guilty lion, but we are still awaiting the results of nine more animals," JA Khan, state's top forest official was quoted as saying.
Gir National Park in Gujarat is home to around 400 Asiatic lions against its strength of only 270 lions. Space crunch inside the park forces some of the big cats to venture outside and 'clash' with humans.
