The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Sunday lodged an FIR against Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa and Union Minister H N Ananth Kumar following forensic report confirming voices of the two in an audio of a leaked video.
In a leaked video, Yedyurappa and Ananth Kumar were heard speaking about money transaction done by local political leaders to their high command.
The leaders could be heard talking about bribing the top leadership of the saffron party, sources told ANI.
They were also heard saying, "We will accuse him, he will have to clarify. People might not believe he got kickbacks of Rs 1000 Crore but we will accuse him. Till elections, they will have to keep clarifying". They were referring to constant campaigning to accuse Siddaramaiya till the elections are held in 2018. The Bharatiya Janta Party had alleged that Chief Minister Siddarammaih paid Rs. 1000 crore to the high command.
Reacting to the development former Karnataka chief minister Yedyurappa said "ACB doing this intentionally because Siddaramaiah has bent it. He has failed to get Ananth Kumar and me. We are ready to face the ACB."
