Bangalore, Oct 19: BJP emerged as the single largest party in both Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections on Sunday.

Counting of votes in 288-assembly seats Maharashtra has ended with BJP winning 123 seats, Shiv Sena-63, Congress-42, NCP-41, MNS-1 and Others-18 seats.

In Haryana, BJP won 47 seats, INLD-19 and Congress-15 in the 90-assembly seats.

8.45 pm: PM Narendra Modi leaves from BJP HQ after BJP Parliamentary Board meeting ends.

8.30 pm: Congress leader Ashok Chavan says, "Our weaknesses need to be tackled, winning and losing is a part of polls".
