Katju slams AAP workers, says CM Kejriwal will not be able to control these 'unruly anarchists'

New Delhi, Feb 23: After suggesting Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif for President of India and giving a call for the second struggle for independence in India, the former Press Council of India chief Markandey Katju has now lashed out at the misbehaviour of ruling Aam Aadmi Party supporters in Delhi.

The former judge of the Supreme Court took to micro-blogging site Twitter to condemn the recent attack of Burari police station by two AAP MLAs and their supporters and said that the attack clearly shows the shape of things to come. He also wondered how Delhi's new Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is going to control them.

Katju, known for speaking his mind, wrote on his Twitter handle, "Having won a sweeping election, they now believe that they are the masters of Delhi, and all officials must now kowtow before them. Hundreds of thousands of Delhiites had put on white caps and became ardent AAP supporters who now believe that they are the masters of Delhi."

As per reports, a violent clash took place with police at Burari police station in north Delhi on Friday which left 15 people injured. The supporters of AAP MLAs were also booked, six of whom were arrested. As per reports, more than 1000 people gathered at the Burari police station. They accused police of protecting wrong people.

The FIR was registered under sections of rioting, unlawful assembly, obstructing public servant from carrying out his duty, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and mischief at Burari Police Station.

Earlier, Katju said in his blog that the political rights and civil liberties won by the first struggle for independence that culminated in the freedom on August 15, 1947, have proved to be inadequate and "unchecked corporate power, massive deprivations and inequalities, widespread poverty, growing social insecurity, and lack of decent education, healthcare and housing for our masses" are being witnessed.
