Following the arrest and subsequent interrogation of 7 separatists from Kashmir, the National Investigation Agency is set to summon Yasin Malik, Syed Ali Shah Geelani among others in the terror funding case. The NIA has learnt that all these persons controlled the stone pelters who were used to create the unrest in the Valley while using funds from Pakistan, NIA officers said.

The NIA which secured the custody of the 7 Hurriyat leaders for ten days is now in the process of establishing the financial chain. The NIA says that it had ample evidence to show that the money moved into the Valley from Pakistan through hawala channels and also through hawala channels.

Top separatists such as Malik, Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq are alleged to be the main beneficiaries. It was they who the handlers from Pakistan were in direct contact with, the NIA said. These persons then deployed several persons under them to further the unrest.

The NIA is in possession of call records which suggest that the separatists remote controlled the stone pelters. They were called in systematically to pelt stones at the security forces. An NIA officer told OneIndia that the incidents of stone pelting were never sporadic in nature, but controlled by the separatists.
