Karuna Shukla trains gun at BJP after quitting
"Modi has done good work in Gujarat, but the stains of Godhra incident cannot be wiped off from Narendra Modi's clothes," Shukla told reporters.
On similar lines, she said that even Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh cannot be spared over the Jiram Valley Naxal attack on Congress leaders where 29 people were killed. Interestingly, Shukla is now campaigning for the opposition leaders and party members after quitting BJP.
She is reported to have reached Rajnandgaon, which is Raman Singh's constituency, and is campaigning for Congress candidate Alka Mudliyar, wife of slain MLA Uday Mudliyar, killed during the Darbha Naxal attacks.
When asked about her involvement in campaigning for the opposition, she denied any specific link ups and said that she is campaigning only for those who have approached her personally. Moreover she claims that BJP candidates in Chhattisgarh are fighting the elections independently.
Shukla, who was the BJP Mahila Morcha National President and former Lok Sabha MP, resigned on October 26, alleging that she has been neglected by the senior party members. However, BJP has claimed that it has tried to convince Shukla to reconsider her resignation. Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Chief Charandas Mahant had has welcomed Shukla in his fold and has requested her to campaign for his party.
