Karnataka: PU results out; girls outshine boys
Bengaluru, May 25: Karnataka Pre University Board that faced flak from the students and the parents after back to back Chemistry paper leak has today announced much awaited March 2016 PU results.
Like last year, girls outshined boys. Overall pass percentage of girls across the state stands at 64.78% as against 50.02 % bagged by boys. In district-wise analysis, Dakshina Kannada topped, while Udupi saw its place at second and Kodagu at third.
Dakshina Kannada enjoys pass percentage of 90.48%, Udupi bagged 90.35% and Kodagu 79.35%. Yadgiri district has its place in the bottom with passing percentage 44.16. The total pass percentage of the state is pegged at 57.20%.
Anita Basappa, daughter of Banana vendor from Kudligi Taluk of Bellary district topped in the state in Arts stream scoring 585 out of 600. She has pursued her PU in Indu PU College.

In Science stream, Rakshitha of Bengaluru emerged as topper, Rakshitha did her schooling from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel college, Basaveshwara Nagar. Rakshitha has secured 596 marks. In commerce Suhana Kulakarni of Bidar topped the table with 594 mark. She studied in V V Darbar PU College.
