Karnataka polls: New survey gives BJP 108, Congress 74
A new pre-poll survey for Karnataka says that the BJP would end up winning 102-108 seats in the assembly elections. Jan Ki Baat which published the opinion poll has however given the Congress double digits.
It says that the Congress which is ruling Karnataka could end up with 72-74 seats while the JD(S) would get 42-44. The survey says that there would be no clear majority, but the BJP would end up as the single largest party in the state. This is the second survey after Lokniti which says that the BJP would end up as the single largest party.
The survey says that the vote share for the BJP would be at 40 per cent. In 2013, the BJP had bagged 40 seats. The Congress which won the 2013 polls with 122 seats would end up with a vote share of 38 per cent this year, the poll survey also says. The JD(S) would end up with a vote share of 20 per cent. The party had bagged 40 seats in the previous election.
The poll survey gives the 'others' 2 to 4 seats with a vote share of 2 per cent. In 2013, " others' had ended up with 2 seats.
