Karnataka Chief Minister designate H D Kumaraswamy was in Delhi on Monday (May 21) to meet the Congress' top brass. He met Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, BSP chief Mayawati among others and said that talks about modalities of government formation would begin from Tuesday (May 22). Congress' Karnataka general secretary KC Venugopal will meet the local leaders of the alliance and finalise the sharing of cabinet berths, he said.
Congress, on its part, said that Kumaraswamy thanked Rahul Gandhi for allowing him to become the Chief Minister despite the grand old party having more seats. Congress' Randeep Surjewala said that alliance between the Congree and the JD (S) would be a 'long term' relationship.
