Karnataka elections: This constituency received highest nominations
The highest number of nominations were received at the Mulbagal constituency. At 60 this is the highest number of nominations a constituency has received in the poll-bound Karnataka.
As per the information provided by the Election Commission, Varuna received 35 nominations while Hubli-Dharwad Central received 32. In the Raichur segment, there were a total of 30 nominations that had been received.
Out of the 3,374 nominations that have been received only 259 were from women candidates as opposed to the 3,115 filed by men. In the BJP's list, there were 17 women while in the case of the Congress it was 16.
The highest number of women candidates to have filed their nominations are independents. A total of 1,673 independents have filed their nominations of which 90 are women.
