Karnataka election: No booze, 48 hours before polling
Tipplers would have trouble accessing liquor in the poll-bound state of Karnataka. While most liquor shops have already started running dry with limited stock being supplied, a decision has been taken to shut down liquor shops along the bordering districts of Karnataka, 48 hours ahead of polling.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government has told Karnataka that it would extend necessary cooperation for the smooth conduct of May 12 elections.
Chief Secretary of Telangana, S K Joshi said that more than 800 police personnel from the state were being deployed for election duty and all steps were being taken to ensure that security at check posts along the Karnataka border was beefed up.
