The man accused of being the mastermind behind the dissent in BJP, B L Santosh is rather quiet. Accused by B S Yeddyurappa of creating differences within the party, Santosh calmly said that those who should act will act.

Karnataka BJP crisis: 'Those who should act, will', says B L Santosh

"I neither made any observations nor have comments to make about the situation in Karnataka. Those who should take action will intervene," B L Santosh told OneIndia. The RSS strongman has been accused of using K S Eshwarappa as a pawn to engineer rebellion against B S Yeddyurappa. Santosh maintained that he was not a politician but a worker thus has nothing to say.

What he did convey without putting it in words is that the senior leadership of the BJP including Amit Shah was keeping a close eye on the developments and an 'action plan' is being readied.

Yeddyurappa minced no words in accusing Santosh, the joint secretary (organisation) of the BJP of creating problems in the state unit. While Yeddyurappa spoke of Santosh directly only on Thursday, his supporters have been holding him responsible for the unsavoury developments in the BJP since the last 6 months.

"Santosh wants to be Kingmaker"

Supporters of B S Yeddyurappa have alleged that Santosh has been engineering a rebellion to replace B S Yeddyurappa as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate. Following the rout in Gundlupet and Nanjangud bypolls, the dissent against Yeddyurappa has only been increasing and the leader's supporters allege that Santosh is attempting to use the opportunity in his favour.

Those neutral in the BJP, however, dismissed the allegations. "Santosh is not interested in becoming the king. He only wants to be the kingmaker," said a BJP leader. Santosh comes from a strong RSS background and has been instrumental in managing the party's performance in Goa assembly polls. He, many from the BJP say, is keen on having someone easy to control in the king's seat and the same is not a possible with Yeddyurappa around.

The interest right now, BJP leaders said, was to have a man who the RSS can control at the helm of affairs. The fight really is for the control over the party than anything else.
