Kanpur: BJP comes up with new poster on 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan

Lucknow, April 12: Already, there has been more than enough said on the slogan "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". Now the BJP in Kanpur has come up with new posters saying "Bharat mein rehna hai to Bharat Mata ki jai kehna hai' (To live in India, one has to say "Bharat Mata ki jai")

These posters with new slogan also shows the image of PM Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, home minister Rajnath Singh, veteran party leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, along with local BJP leaders.

Due to some anti-national activities in past few months, the NDA government has vocalised the need to invoke patriotism in Indian citizens and that's why there has been a lot of controversy on raising the slogan "Bharat Mata ki jai".

The BJP in Uttar Pradesh has started preparing itself for the assembly elections slated to held next year.

Recently, India's largest Islamic seminary 'Darul Uloom Deoband' issued a "fatwa" saying Muslims should not say "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani had reacted saying, "Chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' is a matter of emotion. Every human being has the right to chant for mother or for the motherland. Motherland is no less than one's mother." [Rise and say 'Bharat Mata ki Jai']

The controversy started after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's comment that everybody should say the slogan which was opposed by MIM leader and MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

On Sunday, April 10, JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar landed himself in a controversy for his remarks that he will name his wife and children as "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".
