Out on furlough, Jessica Lal murder convict Manu Sharma marries Mumbai girl

New Delhi, April 27: Manu Sharma, who is undergoing life term for killing model Jessica Lal has tied the knot. Reportedly, last week Sharma alias Siddharth Vashisht married with a Mumbai girl when he was out on furlough.

The 'secret ceremony' took place on April 22 in Chandigarh.

According to Indian Express, Sharma got married in a low -key ceremony, attended by some close relatives only. When prodded about the issue, Sharma's father former Union Minister Venod Sharma declined to comment saying that "It's his personal life."

The jail authorities have confirmed that Sharma was out on furlough last week.

Reportedly, Sharma knew the girl from last 10 years and wanted to marry earlier only but the plan got postponed after he was convicted by Delhi High Court in murder case.

Manu Sharma had shot dead Jessica Lal after she had refused to serve him liquor at the Tamarind Court restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani at Qutub Colonnade in south Delhi's Mehrauli in 1999.

Sharma was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Jessica Lall in 2006.
