Jaya Bachchan objects on double meaning jokes on FM channels
Jaya raised the issue in Rajya Sabha on Thursday while asking the government to interverne and take note of the serious issue.
While talking to media persons, Jaya said, "I am not against satire but I am objecting to their language. It is not palatable to me."
"The jockeys should ensure their language and content should not be objectionable. Those of us who are sitting inside the house should be respected. This mimicking and making fun of leaders is not correct," she said.
Her objection against private FM station radio jockeys may land them into trouble for their mimicry on politicians.
Meanwhile, the information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar said while agreeing to the issue, "Such jokes are not in good sense and the government is considering what action can be taken into this matter."
