Srinagar, Dec 15: The separatists of the Valley have toned down their calendar of protests.

For the first time since the unrest began following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani on July 8, the separatists of Jammu and Kashmir had decided to relax the shutdown for five days a week.

Protest

As per the new calendar of protests that has been issued the separatists have asked the people to observe a shutdown only on Friday and Saturday.

OneIndia had reported the separatists had decided to tone down its calendar of protests.

Sources say that the separatists are thinking of putting an end to the protests.

From next week onwards there would be no such calendar that would be issued.

The new calendar of protests issued for Friday and Saturday says that the people should take part in an Azadi march.

Unlike the earlier calendar the new one does not speak about blocking roads. This would mean that life would go on normally in the Valley.

There are a variety of reasons behind this decision. The people are fatigued and want to go about their lives normally.

Secondly the Intelligence Bureau officials suspect that the orders may have come from Pakistan.

The decision to issue a protest calendar was the idea of the former Pakistan Army chief, General Raheel Sharif.

However with Qamar Javed Bajwa there is a change in strategy, Intelligence Bureau officials suspect.
