A case against Asiya has been registered under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

"A case has been registered against Andrabi at Nowhatta Police station under Section 13 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act," a police officer said.

Asiya heads women's wing of Dukhtaran-e-Millat which is associated with the Hurriyat. She is one of the most prominent separatist leaders in the Valley. She is alleged to have not only unfurled the Pakistani flag but also sang its national anthem along with some of her supporters.

Meanwhile in Delhi, the controversy that erupted after General VK Singh attended the Pak's National Day celebration is not dying down in New Delhi.

Singh on Tuesday later gave a clarification on the same.

"Given that a controversy has erupted around this issue, I feel that it is important for me to clarify that my tweets were directed only towards those sections of the media that have questioned the intent of my government and also its stance on countering Pakistan-sponsored terror.

I feel that it is also important for me to clarify that I am fully committed to my party and government, especially my PM," Singh was quoted as saying in an IE report.

Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs Minister, represented the government at the Pak Day reception at the High Commission in New Delhi amidst the controversy sparked by Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit's comments that India was not against his interactions with Kashmiri separatist leaders.

Singh, former Army Chief, attended the celebrations, where several Kashmiri separatist leaders including Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Yaseen Malik were also present.
