ISI reportedly asked IM operatives to incite communal tensions in India
New Delhi, Nov 7: If reports are to be believed, Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives have been directed by Pakistan intelligence agency to carry out vandalism in religious places in India.
According to reports ISI wants to spread hatred among people especially in Punjab. This has also been claimed that vandalism at religious places or desecration of religious symbols may take place in border areas of Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, reported Times of India.
State chief secretaries and DGPs of these two states have been asked to beef up security in these states to thwart any communal tension.
Officials in the Haryana and UP, have also been asked to take preventive measures as vandalism at religious places I these two states may lead to communal tension in the neighbouring states.
Inputs about presence of five Pakistani terrorists last month also put Centre on high alert. Officials of respective states were asked to stay extra vigilant against any attempt to disrupt peace and harmony in their states.
