IS suspect held in Madhya Pradesh
It is suspected that he was in touch with some persons and was attempting to set up a module in the state.
A person with suspected Islamic Sate links was held in Madhya Pradesh by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad. The suspect was tracked down on the basis of intelligence inputs after it was found that he had links with some handlers and operatives of the IS in India.
The suspect who is being taken to Maharashtra for questioning was held at Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh. It is suspected that he was in touch with some persons in Maharashtra and was attempting to set up a module in the state.
Several operatives have been arrested from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in the past for their alleged IS links.
The extent of this suspect's involvement with the IS is yet to be ascertained. "The intelligence on him was concrete, following which, we carried out the arrest," an ATS official informed OneIndia.
