Is SIMI reviving its women's wing Shaheen Force
This wing apart from radicalising children also prepares young girls for jihad. The women are expected to play a major part in this outfit.
Bengaluru, Nov 3: The Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) is likely to activate its Shaheen Force in a bid to revive itself, Intelligence Bureau officials have indicated.
The Shaheen Force is the outfit's wing for women and children. The war that the SIMI would try and wage through the Shaheen Force would be different.
It would not try and attempt strikes through its force. This wing of the SIMI is focused on creating a platform for the future. Initiated by Safdar Nagori the head of the radical wing of the SIMI, the Shaheen Force educates children about the need for Sharia and how the system should be disrupted as it only misguides people.
The re-birth of the Shaheen Force:
The Shaheen Force aims are preparing children for the future cause of the SIMI. The SIMI has been losing several of its men in the recent past. Moreover in the recent past there has been a beeline at the door steps of the ISIS. The SIMI however practises the al-Qaeda style of terrorism. The SIMI still considers Osama Bin Laden as its hero. They call him a true believer of Islam. In fact Nagori had said that Laden is not a terrorist.
In this context the SIMI feels that the Shaheen Force must be activated. This wing apart from radicalising children also prepares young girls for jihad. The women are expected to play a major part in this outfit. They are expected to advise and educate their children according to the SIMI thought process.
