Bengaluru, Jan 12: A bizarre and maddening sycophancy came to fore, while the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi granted bail by the Patiala House Court on Dec 19, 2015 in much talked National Herald case.

On the same day, a business man, Suresh (35) from Ramanagara district placed his vow before a Hindu God, Tirupati Venkataramana (manifestation of Lord Vishnu). He vowed to the god that he would cut his finger, if the Congress top heads granted bail by the court.

The court hearing the plea, granted unconditional bail to both. Suresh too rejoiced, perhaps with his friends, a relief given to Gandhis. A staunch fan of Gandhi family, did not back down to unleash his sycophant act of bizarre sacrifice.

He on Dec 24 cut his little finger as promised to the God and offered it to the Venkataramana on Dec 25.

In a brief telephonic interview to OneIndia, Suresh narrates his story of madness and devotion to Gandhi family, besides advising people not to emulate the same.

"I was sheltered at my uncle's house in college days after my father died. The house which was built with the help of Indira Gandhi's housing scheme clipped under Garibi Hatao program," Suresh said.

A wall of the house had Indira Gandhi's photo hung. Suresh further narrated, each morning as soon as he woke up he used to see the photo and this is how "I developed a deep sense of devotion. Later my love and adulation spread on all family members."

Suresh conveyed he was shocked to learn that Gandhis were summoned by the court and for them to escape from hard times, he promised harsher sacrifice to the God.

"I was soaked in happiness after Gandhis given bail and I had to deliver my promise," he informed. Suresh added he went to Tirupati on Dec 23 alone and called a friend to the hotel on Dec 24. With the assistance of his friend Suresh chopped off his little finger and covered it with Rs 1000 currency note and a letter.

Suresh packed it in a plastic cover and on Dec 25 he put that into Tirupati Hundi (donation box). When asked is it right to do so, he told it is not proper and advised that no one should follow his path.

When asked weather he was upset with the Congress being drubbed in the 2014 general elections, he said it is people's choice. It is the beauty of democracy and he has no qualms in BJP holding the helm.
