The Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday hit back at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) over a resolution adopted by it on Kashmir issue and said the latter had no "locus standi on India's internal affairs".

The 44th session of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Council of foreign ministers, held in Abidjan on July 10-11, called upon India to implement the United Nations Security Council resolutions in Kashmir. The Council also called upon the United Nations and the international community to play their role in stopping the alleged "continuing bloodshed" in Kashmir.

"India notes with utmost regret that the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during its 44th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on 10-11 July 2017, has again adopted certain resolutions which contain factually incorrect and misleading references to matters internal to India, including the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India," an MEA statement said on Tuesday.

An OIC press statement also said UN Security Council's resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir will guarantee Kashmiris' right to self-determination through a "UN supervised plebiscite".

"India out rightly rejects all such references. The OIC has no locus standi on India's internal affairs. We strongly advise the OIC to refrain from making such references in future," MEA statement added.
