Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah has stirred the controversy over his remarks on Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) yet again. He reiterated that PoK belongs to Pakistan and said that India has not been able to take it "despite claiming it for 70 years".

Abdullah had drawn flak for his remarks on Saturday in which he had said that PoK belongs to Pakistan and "this won't change" no matter how many wars India and Pakistan fight against each other.

Speaking in Uri on Wednesday, Abdullah asked how long will India continue to claim that PoK is theirs.

"Kab tak begunahon ka khoon behta rahega aur hum ye kehte rahenge ki wo hamara hissa hai? Wo inke baap ka hissa nahi hai. 70 saal ho gaye hain. (Till when will the blood of the innocent be shed and we will keep saying that (PoK) belongs to us. That region (PoK) is not their (India's) father's property. 70 years have passed)," he said.

"Wo Pakistan hai, ye Hindustan hai aur 70 saal se ye usko haasil nahi kar sake. Aaj kehte hain ye hamara hissa hai (That is Pakistan and this is India. They (India) could not take it in 70 years, and they are now saying that (PoK) is ours," he added.

A Bihar court on Monday ordered the filing of FIR against former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah on charges of treason over his remarks on PoK.

He had also said that while Kashmir decided to join India out of love, the country "betrayed" the people of Kashmir and did not treat them well.
