Telangana CM KCR’s gift to Lord Balaji
KCR presented gold ornaments worth Rs 5.6 crore at the Tirumala temple as a 'thanksgiving gift'.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gifted ornaments worth Rs 5.6 crore to Tirumala on Wednesday. The gold ornaments presented to Lord Balaji and Goddess Padmavati at the Tirumala temple is said to be a 'thanksgiving gift'.
KCR, his family and ministers travelled to the hill shrine to fulfil a vow Rao had taken during campaigning for the creation of a separate Telangana. Telangana CM had previously gifted a golden crown worth Rs 3.65 crore to Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal.
KCR had taken a special flight to Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday evening and offered the gifts during special pujas on Wednesday. Here are the pics of the gifts:
A golden necklace worth Rs 3.70 crore
This is the first visit of Telangana CM to Tirumala after bifurcation. A nose-stud worth Rs 45,000 to Goddess Padmavati, was also offered by KCR.
A 14.20 kg Haram golden necklace worth Rs 3.70 crore
In coming days to fulfill his pledge he is to visit Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Warangal. He is to present "Golden Moustaches" to Lord there.
A 4.65 kg Kanta Abharanam worth Rs 1.20 crore
The opposition had criticised the move of CM and raised questions on spending crores from state exchequer for fulfilling a personal pledge.

The Chief Minister, along with his family members, ministers and top officials arrived by two special aircraft for the much-awaited thanksgiving trip to the Tirumala temple.
