In Pics: Dasara celebrations begin in Mysuru
Oct 4: The 10-day famous Mysuru Dasara celebrations began on Oct 2 amid tensions in the state over the Cauvery water issue.
The inauguration of the ten day celebration took place on Sunday. Maharaja of Mysore Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar attended the Mysore Dasara Navarathri festival at private darbar.
Several cultural programmes take place during the ten-day festivities. On the last day, the celebration culminates with the famous Jumbo savari, a traditional Dasara procession that is know to attract several tourists.
