Illiteracy needs to be eradicated: Ashok Gajapathi Raju
Vizianagaram (AP), March 19: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Sunday, March 20 called upon people to work towards eradicating illiteracy from the country.
"It is blemish on India that nearly half of the population is still illiterate even after 68 years of independence. All people should work unitedly towards eradication of illiteracy," Raju said.
The Minister was speaking during his visit to Mugada village in Bandagi mandal in the district, which he has adopted under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), in addition to two other villages - Dwarapudi and Saripalli.
He expressed satisfaction that public representatives, officials and people extended their support for the development of Dwarapudi village. "In Dwarapudi, a lot of power is being saved thanks to the use of LED bulbs," he said.
