If Hafiz Saeed is ‘saheb’ for Pak PM, then what evidence can one give: Ram Madhav
For a Prime Minister for whom Hafiz Saeed is Saheb, what evidence can anyone supply to him, BJP's general secretary Ram Madhav said. His statements come after Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said in an interview that there was no case against the mastermind of the Mumbai 26/11 attack, Hafiz Saeed.
During an interview, Abbasi also referred to the Lashkar-e-Tayiba chief as Hafiz Saeed 'saheb.'
Madhav shot back by saying, "Plenty of evidence against terror activities of Hafiz Saeed has been collected by countries. It's all available with Pakistan government, but they want to turn a blind eye. For a PM for whom Hafiz Saeed is 'saheb', what evidence can anyone supply to him."
In response to Abbasi, Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir said that the government will not decide its strategy on the basis of what Islamabad proclaims.
Ahir said India considered Saeed a terrorist and would take action against the Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief even if Pakistan backed out. "We won't decide our nation's strategy on basis of what Pakistan says. We consider Hafiz Saeed a terrorist. It will be good if Pakistan government takes action but even if they don't, we will," he further said.
