I am sorry, let me fly: Gaikwad writes to aviation minister
Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad has conveyed his regret to aviation minister, Gajapathi Raju and requested him to lift the fly ban against him. In a letter to the minister, Gaikwad said that he regrets for the unfortunate incident that took place on March 23 2017 on the Air India Flight No AI-852 seat no 1F.
It could have been no one's intention to have let the situation aggravate to the level that it eventually did, he said. While the ongoing investigation investigation will bring out the factual sequence of events to fix responsibility, this incident may kindly be seen as a reason for likely recurrence of such events in future also.
As the restriction on flying is affecting the discharge of my duties and responsibilities, I would request you to lift this restriction and let the investigations eventually determine the circumstances that led to the incident, the MP also wrote.
