How many times Modi will attack Congress to avoid addressing BJP govt’s failures?
During his speech in Parliament on Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi attacked the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family.
New Delhi, Feb 8: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should seriously rethink about its grand plan of Congress-mukt Bharat (the complete destruction of the grand old party). Without the Congress, the BJP too would soon obliterate from the map of India as the top leadership of the saffron party will have nobody to blame for all the ills of the country.
The BJP definitely needs the Congress more than India does; looking at the number of times any saffron leader utters the word "Congress" whenever he/she opens his/her mouth to talk.
Every time anything goes wrong with the country, the BJP repeats its old chant--"it's the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family responsible for the destruction of the country".
Sadly, the BJP leaders never talk about the party's contributions to the country except for its 'development rhetoric' which has no factual basis.
Since 2014, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country he has been constantly reminding the voters that everything that is wrong with the country, it's the handiwork of the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family.
Well, PM Modi, we understood what you want to tell the country. You don't have to repeat yourself so many times and curse the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family everywhere you go, even during your foreign tours.
Now, PM Modi would you care to talk about your own government's hits and misses (with facts and figures, no more rigmarole of rhetoric), since the BJP is in power at the Centre and the Congress is in the opposition for almost four years?
The PM's blame game against the Congress and anything that is remotely associated with the grand old party has become so tried and tested that it has started inducing sleep among the listeners.
On Wednesday, when the PM addressed Parliament during the ongoing budget session, he once again repeated himself by fiercely attacking the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family.
In his over an hour-long speech, Modi uttered the words--the Congress, Nehru and Gandhi uncountable times. His attack against the dynasts of Indian political system sounded more hollow and frivolous especially at a time when the nation is asking the ruling BJP multiple-questions on jobs, high inflation rate, rise in fuel prices and rise in communalism and hate politics, among others.
In his speech, which the BJP supporters have hailed as a scathing attack on the Congress which has been critical of the Modi government, the PM did not care to address even the most latest pressing issues like crash in the stock market following the Union budget, missing jobs including Modi's pakodanomics, allegations of corruption in the Rafale defence deal and recent rout of the BJP in the Rajasthan bypolls.
Even the BJP's old-time ally Shiv Sena criticised Modi's speech in the Lok Sabha. The Shiv Sena said that the people didn't want to hear the Congress' criticism from Modi but they want to know about the government's schemes.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande said, "It is time that Modi ji realises it has been four years now. People were fed up because of the Congress and that is why they chose you. People want to hear about your schemes and not the criticism of the Congress."
Instead of speaking like a PM of the nation, Modi decided to sound the General elections 2019 bugle for the BJP during his speech in the Lok Sabha for the motion of thanks to the President's address.
From blaming the Nehru-Gandhi family and the Congress for India's partition to the mess in the non-performing assets (NPA), Modi's speech was an oft-repeated report card of the grand old party which is in the opposition today.
"I have proof of how the Congress looted and plundered India. You will pay for your sins. Time has come for you to be held accountable and answerable to the people of India," Modi said.
The PM added that the banking policies of the previous governments were not proper and the middlemen were happy but the country was suffering.
I see that whenever we are criticised by select Opposition parties, substance is lacking. They go back to saying- when we were in power....

This is the same party that divided India: PM @narendramodi in the Lok Sabha
How can one of the leaders say India got a democracy due to Pandit Nehru and the Congress Party? Is this their reading of India's history? What arrogance is this: PM @narendramodi in the Lok Sabha

When we speak about creating new states, we remember the manner in which Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji created Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. He showed how farsighted decision making is done: PM @narendramodi in the Lok Sabha https://t.co/0aHXLrts3D

When Rajiv Gandhi landed in Hyderabad, how did he behave with a Congress leader Mr. T Anjaiah. He humiliated a big leader, who did not belong to a privileged background: PM @narendramodi

How did the Congress act in Kerala, how did they treat the @Akali_Dal_ in Punjab, how did they behave in Tamil Nadu? Why did Congress dismiss so many state governments at their will. This is no commitment to democracy: PM @narendramodi

The PM's list of accusations against the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family looks never ending. He also did not spare the new president of the Congress Rahul Gandhi, who is also one of Modi's favourite 'enemies'.
In December, did we witness an 'election' or coronation for the post of Congress President? One youngster raised his voice about this as well: PM @narendramodi in the Lok Sabha

In reply to all these allegations, once again the Congress sought answers from the Modi government over its own failures.
The former president of Congress Sonia Gandhi said that there was nothing new in his speech. "People are interested in jobs. They want to hear about their future."
Similarly, Rahul said in Parliament the PM should talk about important issues related to the country.

"He spoke for more than an hour but didn't speak a word on the Rafale deal, or on farmers or on employment for youth. It was a totally political speech," said Rahul.
He added, "I think Modi ji has forgotten that he is the PM now, he should answer questions and not always accuse the opposition."
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor repeated his infamous "farrago" jibe which he had earlier used against a television channel to describe the PM's speech.
"He might be a terrific orator but this speech is a farrago of misrepresentations and half-truth," said Tharoor.
If PM Modi is thinking that he could skirt the problems plaguing the nation by repeatedly blaming the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family for all the country's chaos, then only god (if it exists) can help us.
We wonder why Modi and the BJP are obsessed with the Nehru-Gandhi family.
