The All Indian Mahila Empowerment Party which contested all the seats in the Karnataka assembly elections ended up with a vote share of 0.3 per cent. This was exactly the same vote share that the BSP polled in the 20 odd seats that it contested.

The entry now the MEP was being viewed as an attempt to split the Muslim votes. The party was however not able to attain much success on that front though. The MEP was contesting the elections for the first time and secured 0.3 per cent of the votes.

In all the party polled 97,670 votes after it floated candidates in all the constituencies in Karnataka.

The BSP which was in an alliance with the JD(S) managed to also poll 0.3 per cent of the votes. In all it bagged 1,08,589 votes overall. However out of the total votes polled, it bagged 71,792 votes in Kollegal alone where it won the election.

Other parties such as Swaraj and CPM got a lesser vote share. Both parties polled 0.2 per cent of the votes. The Karnataka Pragyavantha Janatha Party which faced immense turmoil due to differences between its founders and actor Upendra polled 0.2 per cent.

The party however opened its account as its candidate won the Ranebennur constituency.

The party which secured 74,299 votes of which its candidate R Shankar alone bagged 63,910 votes. The independents on the other hand polled four per cent of the votes and bagged a total of 14,34,379 votes.
