How to commute in times of steep hike in petrol, diesel prices? Ride bicycle like Tej Pratap Yadav
On Thursday, Tej attracted a lot of attention when he was seen riding a bicycle on the streets of Patna.
Patna, July 26: Former Bihar health minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav is never out of news. He will find one or other way to remain politically relevant.
While his younger brother Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has taken over the reins of the RJD as the party patriarch and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been awarded jail term for his role in various scams, Tej is hogging the limelight either for his upcoming Hindi film, "Rudra - The Avtar", or his marriage to Aishwarya Rai.
On Thursday, Tej attracted a lot of attention when he was seen riding a bicycle on the streets of Patna. When news agency ANI asked him why he was riding a bicycle, the eldest son of Lalu and Rabri said that petrol and diesel have become costlier.
"It is best to ride a bicycle now. It also helps to stay healthy," said the 29-year-old RJD MLA.
"Patna: RJD's Tej Pratap Yadav takes out a cycle yatra, says, "petrol and diesel have become costlier, it is best to ride a cycle now, it also helps to stay healthy." #Bihar," tweeted ANI.

In the last few weeks, prices of petrol and diesel have touched the sky leaving commuters distressed. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has come under attack from opposition parties for failing to provide relief to the commoners.
In fact, many, including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, while taking a dig at the Narendra Modi government have promoted the idea of bicycle riding instead of travelling in cars and buses to avoid paying so much for commute.
On Wednesday, one litre of petrol was being sold in Delhi for Rs. 76.23, in Kolkata for Rs. 79.10, in Mumbai for Rs. 83.68, and in Chennai for Rs. 79.18.
