'Hope efforts will increase': Omar after meeting Dineshwar Sharma
Omar refrained from divulging the details of the meeting and said expressed hope that "efforts would increase".
Government's special representative Dineshwar Sharma on Wednesday held a meeting with former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah. The meeting was held at Omar's residence in Srinagar.
Omar refrained from divulging the details of the meeting and said expressed hope that "efforts would increase".
"What we talked about is between us. I put forward certain things and he agreed to consider them because if you just sit at the guest house and wait for people to come nothing will happen. Hope when he comes next his efforts will increase," Omar told the media after meeting Sharma.
Sharma, who arrived in Kashmir on Monday, had earlier said that he is open to meeting with the political leadership in the state and other prominent voices in the Valley to ensure that peace returns to the state.
A high alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir as the Centre's interlocutor began talks in the Valley. Intelligence Bureau officials say that the Pulwama attack that took place on Monday was staged to coincide with the visit of Sharma.
