Hooda government, CAG indicted me for exposing Robert Vadra: Khemka
After PM Modi slammed Bhupinder Singh Hooda government in his rally in Hissar, Haryana, for officially legitimising the land deal between Rober Vadra and DLF, Khemka has now accused the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India and Haryana government of harassing him for exposing the irregularities by Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law.
In a strongly-worded letter addressed to CAG Shashi Kant Sharma, the IAS officer accused the country's top auditor of framing him for alleged lapses during his tenure as MD of Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC), at the instance of Hooda government. Khemka also said that he was not given the chance to defend him
"The general perception is that you wanted to keep the grant, renewal and transfer of colony license permission to M/s Skylight Hospitality (Robert Vadra's company) by the town & country planning department under wraps. The scale of land scams in Haryana is likely to be bigger than the 2G spectrum allotment scam and the coal mine allocation scam taken together," his letter states.
The letter states that CAG auditing the work of one officer is unheard of.
Khemka in his letter written in July has defended his decision on truss-less galvalume sheets for food storage godowns and accused the CAG of letting the executive (Haryana government) dictate what should and should not be audited.
Earlier on Monday, in a two-pronged attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi waded into a controversy over a news report that Congress government in Haryana has officially legitimised the land deal between Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Vadra and DLF Ltd and asked the Election Commission to take serious note of the issue.
"They (Hooda government) know that after the elections, the son-in-law (Vadra) will not get any clearances for illegal deals. So, in between the election process, they have dared to take such a decision," Modi said at an election rally at Hisar.
"I think Hooda was pressurised from the top (Congress leadership) to take such a decision," he said.
The Election Commission, the Prime Minister hoped, would take "serious note" of the state government's decision.
