Hizbul Mujahideen offers Rs 20 lakh reward to kill J&K minister

The Hizbul Mujahideen chief, Syed Salahuddin who personally is overseeing the execution of this plan has also announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for the person who carries out the killing.

A high alert has been sounded after it came to light that the Hizbul Mujahideen has hatched a plan to kill a top minister in Jammu and Kashmir. Chatter that was picked up suggested a plan being hatched by the terror group to kill a minister to avenge the probe being conducted by the National Investigation Agency.

The Hizbul Mujahideen chief, Syed Salahuddin who personally is overseeing the execution of this plan has also announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for the person who carries out the killing.

The Intelligence Buerau says that the plan has been hatched to kill Sajjad Ahmed Lone. A team which would carry out the assassination has already been identified and they are in the Valley, the IB says.

The NIA had recently arrested Shahid Yousuf, the son of Salahuddin the terror funding probe. The Hizbul Mujahideen chief had cried foul over the arrest and said that these were sustained efforts made to scuttle the voices of freedom in the Valley.

In recently times, the Hizbul Mujahideen had also directed its men to target government officials who they thought were playing the role of informers. The outfit said that if such officers are killed, then it would spread fear in the minds of those who are working for the Indian agencies.
